When choosing a fitness app, you must first figure out what you are working towards: your fitness & health goals.
Here are some questions you should ask yourself:
“Am I working out to lose weight or to increase muscle mass?”
“Am I training for a marathon or trying to improve endurance?”
“Am I training to increase my glutes or to reduce gluteal fat?”
These are just a few questions you must first answer before downloading any fitness app.
How to Choose the Right One for You
1. Read the Reviews
A lot of people don’t read reviews because it can be time consuming. But it is the quickest and easiest way to know how reputable an app is.
Apps chosen as Editor’s Choice are always the best in their individual niche. The higher the rating, the better the application will be in terms of being safe for your device and also, its ability to deliver what the developers designed it for.
3. Trial & Error
After following the aforementioned guidelines, you’ll still have to test it out yourself. A fitness app can be for dieting only or diet plus exercise regimen while another could be exercise only but for just one muscle group.
When working out, it is imperative that you engage all your muscles for a full and total body workout.
From the back muscles, glutes, hamstrings, quads, pecs, triceps, etc. You can target specific muscles you’re looking to build like say, glutes. But iso workouts only won’t get you where you want to be; cardio plays a big part in fitness as your body will continue burning calories long after your workout.
A fitness app can be a great companion to keep you honest and maintain realistic fitness goals. It is okay to draw inspiration from others you see but remember that your body is unique and thus, requires different workouts and variations.
Take it one step at a time. You’ll get better and I promise you, you’ll feel better right off the bat.
